This is an exhibition of photographs taken by a family of photographers in Minneapolis and Brooklyn during the summer of 2020. The Breaux family – Denice, her son Rowin, and her niece, Rae, were witness/participants in the Black Lives Matter protests that followed the police murder of George Floyd. This event, one of far too many similar episodes in the history of African American people, sparked an unprecedented international storm of protest and solidarity.

Gallery Bergen presents this photographic record, interviews and resources in the hope of making a contribution to the sorely needed dialogues and actions required to dismantle the structures of white supremacy and racism that are destroying the lives of people of color and which damage and affect us all.
